Direct and empathic.

Meticulous and engaging. User research and content for brands, products, and people.

My career in UX started in 2014 while researching the field of human-computer interaction during my undergraduate degree in psychology. Here, I developed a real interest in affective computing and biometrics which introduced me to the idea of empathic design, and how psychology can be used to influence and measure elements of the design process.

While studying, I was hired as a researcher by emotional analytics pioneers, Sensum, to aid in developing software to recognise facial expressions in an emotional context. I went on to work across a series of projects which employed biometrics to analyse user sentiment in response to products, brands and services, and soon became their Lead Psychologist.

I then spent two years setting up and running my own music tuition business, Belfast Guitar Lessons, while studying for my finals and beginning a Master’s degree. Following this, I joined Ireland’s leading UX Consultancy as a User Researcher. Through my time at Fathom, I led the research on a diverse range of projects across a variety of sectors; from aviation to banking, government bodies, entertainment, transport, and beyond.

In 2019 I joined Kindred Group and worked as a Senior UX Researcher within a Design Operations team for two years, amplifying the value of research across both the wider business and design teams.

I joined ClearScore in 2021 to set up the UX Research team, driving insights and research processes across product and design squads as well as scaling the UXR function. I then joined 10x Banking in October 2022 to establish UXR within a B2B corporate banking model.

My research approach—no matter the format—is to bring a range of voices together to explore problems and collectively ideate on solutions. I like to bring a touch of scientific methodology into my work, ensuring it’s as rigorous as possible while keeping everyone motivated through effective storytelling.

When not in the depths of user research, I’m usually getting regular walks from my Golden Retriever, Harley, or deafening myself listening to ‘80s metal guitar riffs.
